Sew Proud Project: Stitching Our Stories Into History

We’re thrilled to launch the Sew Proud Project

A heartfelt community initiative inspired by the powerful legacy of the AIDS Memorial Quilts. This project invites LGBTQ+ people, allies, schools, community groups, and businesses to come together and create quilt panels that celebrate identity, history, love, resilience, and remembrance.

Every panel tells a story — whether it’s honouring a loved one, expressing Pride, reflecting on our shared journey, or sending a message of hope. No sewing experience is needed; just bring your ideas, passion, and voice.

Possible themes include:

LGBTQ+ pride & visibility

Historical milestones & heroes

Acts of remembrance for those lost

Messages of unity and love

This is more than just sewing. Together, we are stitching our stories into a legacy that will be displayed across Halton and beyond.

Workshops and community sessions are coming soon! Get in touch to join in, or to host a sewing session with your school or group. Let’s sew with pride — and make history, one stitch at a time.
